In the video, uploaded by Valerie Stevens-Scott, the little girl, nicknamed ‘Bear Bear’ flaps about uselessly on the floor as the dog watches. So the Jack Russell decides he’ll try to teach her, positioning himself next to her, and then dragging himself along the carpet by his front legs. A woman had a portion of her skull stored in her stomach for 42 days following brain surgery over the summer. Jamie Hilton, a former Mrs. America pageant contestant, suffered a traumatic head injury after falling about 10 feet from a platform onto rocks in Hells Canyon, Idaho, during a fishing trip with her husband and brother-in-law in June. According to the Deseret News, doctors at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center removed about 25 percent of her skull and stored it in her stomach to keep it nourished while her brain healed.

Meet the pint-sized powerhouse: Boy, 7, is so strong he can pull a car along Most children are told to eat their greens if they want to grow up to be big and strong. And this seven-year-old boy clearly needs no encouragement to clear his plate of vegetables. The schoolchild is so powerful he can already pull cars along, carry his father and lift huge, heavy sacks of grain and rest them on his shoulders. And all without breaking a sweat.

RAF Veteran Funeral

A campaign has been started after funeral directors feared that a WW2 RAF hero would not receive the send off he deserves. Sidney Marshall, who died on June 16 aged 90, was a rear gunner on a Lancaster bomber during the Second World War, and flew 28 missions, including a bombing raid on D-Day. Despite being a renowned veteran, Mr Marshall’s old age meant he had few friends or family left, and undertaker Eddie Jacobs fears no one would attend the service to honour the war hero.

Their brain power is at best shallow – or so we thought. Fish have hidden depths and could be a lot smarter than we think, say scientists who have busted the myth fish have a three-second memory span. In fact, they can recall information for up to a fortnight, a study shows. Scientists trained African cichlids, a popular aquarium fish, to eat in a particular part of their tank – and found they returned there to be fed after a two-week break. The findings prove fish are actually quite brainy, say researchers.

Frances Cunningham, who co-owns the Swettenham Arms in Congleton, was sent £100 and an accompanying note, apologising for the 1992 crime. In the letter, the burglar says she didn’t ‘smash up the cigarette machine’ but was involved in the burglary. ‘I’m very, very sorry,’ read the note. ‘I did not realise the seriousness of my actions at the time.
